I need an engaging instructor to run two to three live, interactive Zoom classes each week for a 9th-grade learner beginning their computer-science journey. The course should open with the fundamentals of computer systems—hardware, software, and how they interact—before moving into logic and control structures. From there we will branch into structured Java, Python basics, modular design, and, finally, simple mobile game or app projects built in an online compiler. Classes must be highly participatory: plenty of screen-sharing, live coding, quick polls, and short problem-solving breaks that let the student test ideas immediately. Each concept should connect back to real-life decision making so the student can see how data and logic inform everyday choices and future careers. The overarching goals are clear: • Strengthen problem-solving through data analysis. • Build technical confidence for college-level CS or entry-level tech roles. • Create a solid launchpad toward AP Computer Science. To keep us on track, please provide: 1. A brief weekly outline sent every Sunday. 2. Hands-on exercises and mini-projects with solutions. 3. A concise progress note at the end of each month highlighting wins and next steps. If you thrive on live interaction, can make code fun, and feel comfortable teaching via Zoom, let’s talk.

Hi there, I understand you're looking for a structured, engaging CS mentorship for a 9th grader. The goal is to build a strong foundation, moving from how computer systems work, through core logic in Java and Python, and culminating in tangible mobile app projects. The focus isn't just on writing code, but on developing a problem-solving mindset that connects logic to real-world decisions, creating a solid launchpad for AP CS. Teaching approach: Our sessions will be highly interactive on Zoom. We'll use an online compiler to remove setup friction, focusing entirely on concepts. Each class will involve live coding, screen sharing, and immediate problem-solving exercises to solidify understanding. The curriculum will be project-driven, ensuring every new concept is applied practically. Instructional strategy: We will operate on the clear weekly cadence you've requested. You'll receive a brief lesson outline every Sunday. All sessions will conclude with hands-on exercises (solutions provided). At the end of each month, I'll send a concise progress report detailing achievements and the plan for the next phase. What is the student's prior exposure to coding or logic-based activities (e.g., Scratch, robotics)? Are there any specific types of apps or games they are particularly interested in building? How does the student best absorb information - through visual examples or hands-on trial and error? Regards, Rohit

Classes that actually keep a ninth grader engaged usually come down to pacing and making the logic feel real, so this caught my eye right away. I’ve taught beginners through live coding, quick challenges and small projects, and I’m comfortable moving from hardware basics into Java, Python and simple app builds without overwhelming a new learner. I’d start by grounding them in how computers think, then build up logic step by step so the jump into structured code feels natural and fun. Do you prefer Java or Python as the main language? Should the first projects be games or small utilities? How many sessions a week works best for the student? Juan Pablo
