We are days away from closing on the purchase of our home and are in need of a CPA comfort letter and license in order to do so. We have a CPA here in Indiana that has been preparing our accounting monthly, all tax returns since 2018, monthly, quarterly and yearly P&Ls, etc; however, apparently it is their firm’s policy to NOT provide this letter. We are looking for a licensed CPA or tax preparer to provide a letter attesting to: Our years of operation Confirm name of business Type of business Percentage of ownership of borrower —No attestation to financial well-being. This is an Alt-A mortgage which is why the basic information requested cannot be verified to the lender through standard tax returns— Is this something your firm could provide, with an appropriate fee of course? I have all documents needed at my disposal. Please let me know.

While my CPA license is only two years old, I have been working in accounting and taxation for over 30 years. I have written comfort letters before with my last letter having been written about three weeks ago. I pay very close attention to the wording of the letter to make sure everything stated in the letter is not only accurate, but positive and helpful to the client. I would certainly have you look at it before creating the final product to make sure everything is as you would like it to be.
