I have designed a small 6 × 6.5 m outbuilding that sits on 650 mm brick walls with a 150 mm cavity of Thermalite blocks and facing brick. Above the masonry I’m installing an oak-framed storey—sill and eaves beams on 200*200 mm studs—then four steel columns that carry a 4 × 2 m roof lantern within a flat roof. Before I place any orders, I’d like a qualified structural engineer to verify the overall load-bearing capacity of the scheme. The review should concentrate on structural integrity, general material selection, and specifically cover: • Brick cavity walls • The oak-framed superstructure • The four steel columns supporting the lantern and flat roof Please analyse the current member sizes, connections, and bearing details, flag any overstressed elements, and propose practical modifications if required. A short calculation report (PDF) plus annotated sketches or mark-ups that I can pass to Building Control will be the expected deliverables. I can supply layout drawings and sections in DWG or PDF as soon as we start.

Hello, I have experience reviewing small masonry, timber, oak-frame, and steel-supported outbuilding structures for load-bearing capacity and Building Control coordination. I am a good fit because your scheme needs a focused structural check of the brick cavity walls, oak-framed upper storey, steel columns, roof lantern support, flat roof loads, and connection/bearing details before materials are ordered. I will review your DWG/PDF drawings, sections, member sizes, bearing points, and material assumptions, then check the load path through the masonry, oak frame, steel columns, and foundations. I will flag any overstressed members, weak connections, or bearing issues and provide practical corrections where needed. I will deliver a concise calculation report with annotated sketches or mark-ups suitable for Building Control review. If formal engineer sign-off is required, I can provide it through a qualified structural engineer I work with. Thanks for reading my proposal. Edwin

Hi, I’m an experienced mechanical/CAD designer with strong knowledge of structural detailing, material selection, load-bearing components, and technical drawings. I can review your existing drawings and provide a detailed CAD-based assessment of the proposed brick cavity walls, oak-framed structure, steel columns, roof lantern, connections, and bearing details. I can identify potential problem areas, check the proposed member sizes and interfaces, and prepare clear annotated drawings and technical documentation showing any required modifications. For formal structural calculations, certification, or Building Control approval, the final review should be completed and signed by a suitably qualified structural engineer in the relevant jurisdiction. I can support that process with accurate CAD modeling, detailing, and documentation. I’m ready to review the DWG/PDF drawings and begin immediately. Best regards, Subodh
