I need a complete 6LoWPAN implementation running on an STM32 based node that will be used in automated control systems. The radio transceiver module already embeds the IEEE 802.15.4 PHY and MAC, so your work starts at the adaptation layer upward: building, porting, or custom-writing the 6LoWPAN stack, exposing an easy-to-use API for my application code, and demonstrating reliable mesh communication between multiple nodes in the field. Hardware • Microcontroller: I can work with any Cortex-M0/M1/M2/M3/M4 device, so feel free to target the STM32F0, F4, L4, or whichever family you find most power- and memory-efficient for the stack. • Radio: external module with integrated PHY/MAC; SPI or UART host interface is available and fully documented. Scope of work 1. Port or develop the 6LoWPAN adaptation layer plus UDP/CoAP support on top of the chosen STM32 HAL/LL drivers. 2. Write the driver layer that bridges the stack to the radio’s command set. 3. Expose a concise C API so that my control firmware can send/receive sensor data and actuation commands without touching the low-level networking code. 4. Deliver a proof-of-concept demo: at least two nodes exchanging commands that toggle a GPIO-controlled actuator, showing the low-power operation profile. 5. Provide build scripts and documentation so I can reproduce the firmware with GCC or STM32CubeIDE. Acceptance criteria • Packet loss < 1 % at 50 m line-of-sight. • End-to-end latency < 150 ms for a command message. • Average current consumption in sleep < 15 µA (measured with the radio in idle). • Source code compiles with –O3 and no warnings. If you already have experience with Contiki-NG, Zephyr, or RIOT-OS 6LoWPAN ports on STM32, let me know—leveraging an existing codebase is fine as long as licence terms remain permissive (BSD, Apache 2.0, etc.). I’ll be available for rapid hardware testing and will supply schematics and pin maps on day one.

I’ve integrated more wireless stacks than I can count—BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, MQTT—so STM32 6LoWPAN is right in my lane. I’ve done similar work on projects like a solar-powered water vending machine where I built the entire ESP32 firmware stack from scratch, including RFID, display control, and offline logic. I can handle the full scope: stack porting, board bring-up, and any PCB or enclosure work needed to get a working prototype shipped to you. No fluff, just clean, tested code. Let’s get this moving.

Hello, I can help you build a clean and reliable 6LoWPAN solution on STM32 starting from the adaptation layer up to UDP and CoAP, including a proper driver interface for your 802.15.4 radio module. I have experience working with STM32 firmware development and integrating communication stacks in embedded systems, and I can also leverage proven frameworks like Zephyr or Contiki NG if you prefer a faster and more stable implementation path under permissive licenses. I will design a simple and reusable C API so your application layer can easily handle sensor data and actuator commands without dealing with low level networking complexity. I can also deliver a working multi node demo with GPIO control, low power optimization, and clear build setup for GCC or STM32CubeIDE. Let’s connect and finalize the best approach based on your hardware details and constraints. Best Regards Ammar Ahmed Malik

Hello, which exact 802.15.4 transceiver model and host interface are you using (SPI or UART), and do you already have RX/TX interrupt lines plus a documented way to read RSSI/LQI and put the radio into deepest sleep? I've done STM32 networking/embedded ports for 12+ years, including adapting protocol stacks to constrained Cortex-M targets, wiring low-power state machines end to end, and exposing clean C APIs that your app can call without knowing the network layer. For your build, I'll pick the STM32 family based on RAM/flash needs of the 6LoWPAN+IPv6+UDP or CoAP profile and the scheduler model, then I'll either port an existing permissive 6LoWPAN stack (Contiki-NG/RIOT/Zephyr style) or implement the adaptation layer plus UDP/CoAP plumbing directly, keeping the radio driver as the only hardware-specific boundary. After that, we'll prove mesh command reliability with two nodes toggling a GPIO actuator, instrumenting latency and packet loss under your test setup, and I'll ensure the code builds under GCC with -O3 and zero warnings, plus CubeIDE-compatible scripts and concise bring-up docs. If you can share the module part number and its command set, we can start mapping the driver layer immediately.

I'm an italian electronic engineer with more than 20 years of work experience. I work as HW designer and FW developer. As HW designer, I work in KiCad and Altium and I have experience in development single MCU (Microchip PIC, ARM Cortex, ESP32) boards with several digital I/O (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM,....) and some analog I/O. I design complete board: power section, MCU section, peripheral section,.... I design also boards with battery power; so I have experience in low power PCB design. As FW developer, usually I work in C for Eclipse + GNU ARM GCC for different ARM Cortex M0/M0+/M3/M4/M33 manufacturers (STM32Fx, NXP, EFM32/EFR32 SiLabs, Nordic nFR5x, but I'm ready to learn new frameworks). I have also good experience with ESP32 in "esp-idf" framework. I work with both single task (baremetal) and multi-task environment (ThreadX, FreeRTOS, RTX,...). I write code for low level driver (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM....) management, for medium level (driver for sensor, MEMS, memories, fuel gauge, display,...) and for high level/final application, for bootloader and for OTA. I have great experience in cloud communication with MQTT/MQTTs (FreeRTOS MQTTCore)/AWS (AWS IoT Core)/Azure protocol and HTTP/HTTPs (for SSL I have great knowledge of mbedTLS library). I work also in "C code" commercial boards Arduino/Linux embedded commercial boards (Raspberry and Beaglebone). I have experience in bluetooth (both 2.0 and 4.0) programming.
