Specialist Technical Sales - Commission Based

We are Performance Engineering Associates (PEA), a boutique consulting firm in India specializing in rigorous, scientific performance engineering for business-critical, performance-critical systems, especially Web-based systems. We are run by 2 professionals who have 30 person-years of experience architecting and engineering large-scale IT systems, applications and products for performance.

We provide consulting services and methodology packs on workload modeling, capacity planning and performance testing, each of which brings intensely statistical and other quantitative techniques to bear on system performance diagnosis and redressal.

We are looking to increase our presence in multiple countries with special focus on North America and Western Europe, and need to establish contact with prospects who have large, business-critical applications which are performance intensive.

You may be an individual or firm.

Your role


Create awareness of PEA's offerings, identify pain points which PEA can address. Bring seriously interested parties to the discussion table. When I say "serious" I mean senior IT folks (CIO/Director level) who are interested in specialized skills such as ours even though they may come at premium rates, and realize that they cannot address their performance issues unless they hire specialists in performance engineering. To play this role effectively, you MUST be knowledgeable of application development, you MUST have written code, and you MUST be comfortable talking math and statistics.

If you are a firm, this could take the shape of referrals. For example, if you are a development shop, you can refer your client to us for specialized consulting and methodology in performance engineering areas. If you are an independent testing shop, you can have us hired to do a scientific design of the testbed and the Loadrunner scripting strategy. If you are in the capacity planning arena, you have us hired to create a workload model that feeds into your capacity plan. We also provide a rigorous technical audit service of outsourced projects to determine if they have a high performance risk that needs to be addressed (a common scenario). Therefore if you are involved with outsourced projects that have a performance risk, you can bring us in.

My estimate is that you will spend approximately 1-2 hours to get each prospect to the discussion table. Beyond that we do the rest and your role is minimal! For this effort, we propose to pay you a generous commission of 10% for each project that you win for us and for which payment is realized. Note that we charge US$100/hr for projects done out of India for Indian or overseas clients, so even you win us a small 3-day audit based in India with 2 hours of effort, your commission is a neat US$240.
