Write a bash (or other linux) script

I need a script to run every x amount of minutes on a Raspberry Pi running raspbian linux.

I need it to try and connect to a SMB share on the network, and if successful it should compare the remote files and folder structure with that of a local folder. The local folder will always be the master, so deletes, renames, moves etc in the local should be replicated on the remote. If something is deleted from the remote it should be restored from the local folder.

This is going to be used to transfer CNC job files to the router when it next comes online

Hi, Looks like this can be done with rsync, provided that the user executing the script should have the write permission on your remote (SMB) folder to do the delete or restore etc. Pleae ping me if interested, w Plus

What I see happening here is just a simple .sh file, but also a routine cron job to make sure that it runs every few minutes.
