As a seasoned PCB designer with a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering and an impressive skill set including 3D CAD and Circuit Design, I am well-equipped to convert this project from concept to scalable prototype. My extensive experience in hardware-software integration and expertise with low-power embedded systems make me the perfect fit for your compact battery-powered sensor PCB design. Notably, I have prior exposure working with ESP32 and integrating sensors, USB-C power delivery, as well as multi-sensor integration, mirroring the demands of this project. Given the specified core components such as the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 microcontroller, full-bridge load cell interface, temperature and humidity sensor, accelerometer, and rechargeable 3.7V LiPo battery among others, I can leverage my professional know-how to optimize their placement on the PCB within your mechanical constraints without incurring any performance loss or sacrificing manufacturability. Be it choosing between 2-layer or 4-layer stackup based on RF performance or deciding upon appropriate connector pitch/part numbers - your specifications are my command.

Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience. I have extensive experience designing compact ESP32-based, battery-powered products with USB-C charging, sensor interfaces, RF-aware layouts, and production-ready KiCad documentation. I can develop the complete schematic and PCB within the 44 × 44 mm envelope, including the ESP32-S3, load-cell front end, SHT31, accelerometer, protected LiPo charging/power regulation, ESD protection, programming access, and clearly labeled connectors/test points. I would recommend the LIS3DH for its low power consumption and availability. Given the board density and RF requirements, I would initially favor a 4-layer stackup, although I can assess whether a cost-effective 2-layer design remains practical after placement. The WS2812B supply needs special attention: for reliable color and brightness across 10–30 LEDs, I would recommend a separately rated 5V boost rail, with final sizing based on the intended maximum brightness and LED usage pattern. Deliverables will include the complete KiCad source, ERC/DRC-clean schematic and layout, BOM, Gerbers, and assembly files prepared for JLCPCB or PCBWay. I can also support prototype bring-up, firmware, and the path from concept through consumer-grade small-batch production. Previous client designs cannot be shared publicly, but relevant examples can be shown privately. Do you have an enclosure drawing and a target maximum LED brightness/current? Please contact me to discuss details.

Hi, I'd be glad to help design your ESP32-S3 battery-powered sensor PCB. This project matches my experience with compact IoT hardware, wireless modules, battery management, sensor integration, and production-focused PCB design. I have worked on ESP32/STM32-based boards involving LiPo charging, USB-C power, I²C sensors, ADC interfaces, RGB LED drivers, and low-power embedded systems. For compact designs, I focus on correct power architecture, antenna keepout, grounding, decoupling, and mechanical integration to avoid issues during prototyping. For this board, I would carefully place the ESP32-S3-WROOM antenna area according to Espressif guidelines, evaluate 2-layer vs 4-layer stackup based on routing density and RF requirements, and design the power system with proper battery protection, charging, 3.3V regulation, and LED power handling. I will also review connector selection, BOM availability, and DFM requirements for JLCPCB/PCBWay assembly. A couple of questions: 1. What is the expected maximum current draw for the WS2812B LED strip, and should all 30 LEDs support full brightness operation? 2. Do you already have the enclosure STEP file available, or should the PCB outline be designed from the dimensional requirements only? I can deliver the complete KiCad project, schematic, PCB layout, BOM, Gerbers, pick-and-place files, and documentation with ERC/DRC verification for fabrication.

HI, KINDLY READ THROUGH MY PROPOSAL I will design a compact, production-ready 44×44 mm battery-powered sensor PCB around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8, fully integrating the 4-wire load cell (HX711), SHT31, 3-axis accelerometer, LiPo charging, and WS2812B LED strip interface optimized for a 46 mm circular enclosure. MY APPROACH ✅ Phase 1: Schematic design in KiCad with correct antenna keep-out, ESD protection, 3.3 V regulation, and USB-C BMS (~500 mA charge). ✅ Phase 2: Tight 2- or 4-layer layout (I will recommend the best stack-up for RF + density), optimized placement, and power routing for the LED strip. ✅ Phase 3: Full ERC/DRC clean files, JLCPCB/PCBWay-ready BOM + Gerbers + pick-and-place, ready for prototype. RELEVANT PROJECTS - ESP32-S3 / ESP32 battery-powered IoT PCBs with multi-sensor integration, USB-C charging, and tight form-factor constraints. - Expert in KiCad, HX711 load-cell interfaces, and small-batch manufacturable designs. DELIVERABLES - Complete KiCad project (schematic + PCB) - BOM with part numbers (JLCPCB/PCBWay preferred) - Gerbers, pick-and-place, and assembly notes - Clean design ready to scale to small production QUESTIONS 1. Hi We can use ip5306 for charging and that will also provide boosted 5V rail for LEDs and hx711. With ESP32-S3 using native USB you don't need boot reset buttons. If you make 44x44 PCB you will not be able to fit into 46mm dia enclosure. I can make a circular PCB that will fit into enclosure easily. For battery's protection, we can use DW01a with FS8205. I will do this in KiCAD 9 and PCB will be 4layer as there is not much cost difference. Thanks
