We create bespoke, high-end game-based learning resources to facilitate skills-based teaching in maths. Our aim is to make teaching and learning genuinely fun and engaging for students aged 11-16, and we do this by fusing maths with existing interests in video games and popular culture.
Our growing library of 18 activities and 36 games has been designed by teachers and developed by software industry veterans, combining teaching and learning with multimedia experiences that have more in common with video games than text books.
The portal was launched 4 months ago but is already being used by around 10% of UK schools.
We have reached this milestone without any sales people at all - every member of the team (there are 6 of us) is instead involved with developing the portal and its materials. Up to this point we have used nothing more than social media and word of mouth. However we are now looking for motivated sales people to help us reach the next level.
Our resources are measurably higher quality than those of the current market leader, and I can provide evidence in the form of screenshots and testimonials from teachers and students to support this claim. Providing users of competing software with reasons to switch will not be a problem.
A school subscription to the portal costs from £200+VAT to £425+VAT while a home account costs £35 for up to 4 children. We're looking for sales people who will work initially on a commission-only basis for 30%, with the most successful being taken on permanently with a combination of a basic rate and commission after an agreed trial period.
There are over 3,900 secondary schools in the UK so there is plenty of potential for talented sales people. The exact breakdown as of January 2010 from figures supplied by [url removed, login to view] is as follows:

It doesn't take a mathematician to work out the potential revenue here - all you need is a fantastic product which is what we have. I am of course happy for you to look at the product yourself before committing. Please refer to the attached PDF for more information, and please feel free to take a look at the website.
We have lots of information and assets available and will of course provide you with all of it as well as a list of all the important points that teachers and headteachers are looking for.
I have set the budget on the assumption that a half-decent sales person will be able to make 10 sales per month which is just over two per week. Obviously if you exceed that figure you'll earn more; if you don't reach that figure you'll earn less.
Naturally we will expect you to be a positive reflection of the company and to be polite and courteous at all times.
I look forward to your questions and bids.
