Freelance Business Development — Deal Flow Generation Planck Technologies · Oslo, Norway About Planck Planck Technologies is an Oslo-based deeptech company. We've built an AI platform that designs advanced materials and the engineering systems they go into — together, as a single problem, rather than optimizing one and then the other. That co-design approach is our core advantage: we search across material-and-system combinations that conventional, sequential design never reaches. We apply this to gas-handling challenges across energy and industry: CO₂ capture, methane and biomethane storage, biogas upgrading, and gas separation and purification, with related work in gas conversion and thermal management. Track record: we hold a prime contract with the European Space Agency and have delivered a project for a Schlumberger company. We're now scaling, and we want a dedicated person driving qualified deal flow. The role We're looking for an experienced freelance business developer to source, qualify, and help open new project opportunities for Planck — across both private/commercial clients and public-sector organizations and programmes. You won't be selling alone. Our team owns the technical and proposal substance. Your job is to find the right opportunities, get us in front of the right people, and manage the pipeline through to a signed engagement. What you'll do Identify and qualify project opportunities with industrial companies, utilities, public organizations, and innovation/procurement programmes Map decision-makers and build the relationships that lead to real conversations Run outreach, follow-up, and pipeline tracking Coordinate bid and proposal logistics with our team (we provide the technical content) Keep a clean, auditable record of every opportunity and its status Scope Sectors: gas handling across energy and industry — CO₂ capture, methane and biomethane storage, biogas upgrading, gas separation and purification, and related applications Clients: both commercial/private and public-sector Geography: open — any region. Familiarity with the EU/EEA market and its innovation and procurement landscape is a plus, given our base and existing partnerships. Who we're looking for Proven B2B business development or sales track record, ideally in deeptech, energy, climate, industrial, or engineering services Comfortable with long, technical sales cycles and multiple stakeholders An existing network in any of our target sectors is a strong advantage Experience with public-sector procurement or innovation funding is valuable but not required Self-directed, organized, and able to represent a technical company credibly English required; additional languages a plus Compensation We want to reward results, and we'll structure this around closing. Our preferred model: A modest monthly retainer or a fee per qualified opportunity submitted — to keep the pipeline moving through long cycles, plus A success bonus on signed projects, tied to clearly attributable closes. We're open to discussing the mix with the right person. For public-sector opportunities, compensation will be structured to comply with applicable procurement rules (some programmes restrict purely success-based fees with third parties), and arrangements will be fully disclosable. What stays with Planck Technical discussions, proposal content, and final pricing sit with our team. We'll define attribution clearly up front — which opportunities you've sourced and own — so the success component stays transparent on both sides.
