Part-Time Engineering / Physics Assistant or Potential Partner I am an inventor and entrepreneur working on several technology ideas. My current projects range from a Smart Hot-Bar system to robotics, mechanical systems, aerospace concepts, sensors, automation, and other advanced technology research. I am looking for someone with knowledge or experience in physics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, or aerospace engineering who would be interested in working with me. I am looking for more than someone who simply completes a design and leaves. I would like someone who is willing to work alongside me, explain the physics and engineering to me, help me determine what is technically realistic, develop CAD/designs, select components and materials, and eventually help build and test small prototypes. I want to learn throughout the process. Work Arrangement - $20/hour starting rate - Approximately 22 hours total per week - Part-time - Preferably Monday and Wednesday - Work may include video meetings and collaborative design/prototyping sessions - Opportunity for longer-term involvement as the projects develop Partnership Option If you are interested in becoming a long-term technical partner, I would be very happy to discuss that possibility. I have multiple projects that I want to develop over time, and I would like to build a strong technical team rather than constantly change engineers. For projects that we decide to develop together as partners, I am open to discussing a fair percentage/equity or profit-sharing arrangement, with the responsibilities, intellectual property, ownership, and compensation clearly agreed upon in writing before proceeding. If you prefer to work strictly as a paid engineer or technical assistant, that is completely fine as well. I am open to either arrangement. My goal is to find someone who is serious, curious, patient, willing to explain their work, and interested in turning early-stage ideas into realistic prototypes step by step. If you are interested, please send me a brief introduction explaining your engineering/physics background, the types of projects you have worked on, and whether you are interested in paid part-time work, a potential long-term partnership, or both.

Hi, I'm Futras, a mechanical engineer with a mechanical engineer background and co-founder of Serko Engineering, a simulation and design consultancy. What caught my attention is that you want a collaborator who explains the engineering — not someone who hands over a file and leaves. That's exactly how I work. My core areas are mechanical design, FEA and multiphysics simulation (ANSYS, COMSOL), and CAD in SolidWorks. I've done drop-test impact studies, nonlinear contact and snap-fit locking mechanisms, thermo-mechanical analysis, and medical-device connectors — projects where the real work was deciding what's physically realistic before committing to a build. The work you describe is what I enjoy most: reasoning through the physics together, pressure-testing ideas, developing CAD, choosing components and materials, and iterating toward working prototypes. I'm patient about explaining the "why," and I learn from it too. I'm open to both paths — paid part-time to start, with genuine interest in a long-term partnership if the fit is right. For any equity arrangement, I'd want scope, IP, and ownership agreed in writing, as you noted. One honest note: I'm based in Lahore, so I'm strongest remotely on design, simulation, and component selection; physical build and test we'd coordinate on your side or via local fabrication. Happy to set up a call whenever suits you. — Futras Abbas

Hi, I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience turning early-stage ideas into practical consumer and industrial prototypes. My work has combined electronics, firmware, sensors, automation, motor control, component selection, mechanical integration, and hands-on testing, often taking products from concept through production. Your collaborative approach suits me well. I can help break each idea into requirements, explain the underlying physics and engineering tradeoffs, assess feasibility, develop system concepts and CAD-ready specifications, select materials and components, and support prototype build, bring-up, and testing. For the Smart Hot-Bar and other projects, I would begin with intended performance, constraints, risks, and simple calculations before committing time to detailed design. I am interested in paid part-time work and would be open to discussing a longer-term partnership after we have worked together and established a clear fit, with IP and responsibilities documented. I can accommodate approximately 22 hours weekly, including Monday and Wednesday collaboration. Which project would you like to evaluate first? I would be glad to discuss your ideas and the working arrangement in more detail.

Hi, this sounds more interesting than a typical “design this part” project because I’d actually enjoy being involved in the engineering process, not just producing CAD files. I’m a Mechanical Engineer with experience in SolidWorks, mechanical systems, mechanisms, electronics-related projects and prototype development. I’m comfortable researching a problem, checking whether an idea is physically realistic, designing it, and then improving it based on testing. I also like the fact that you want to understand the engineering behind the projects rather than simply outsourcing the work. I’m happy to explain the reasoning as we go. The part-time schedule works for me, and I’d be interested in building a longer-term working relationship if the first projects go well. If you have one project you’re currently deciding whether to pursue, send me the details. We can start there and see how we work together.

Hello, I am very interested in this opportunity because my experience covers **embedded electronics, PCB design, sensors, control systems, robotics, automation, power electronics, firmware, and prototype development**. I have worked on many multidisciplinary products where the job started from an early idea and required checking technical feasibility, selecting components, designing circuits and control systems, building prototypes, testing, debugging, and improving the design step by step. I am comfortable explaining the engineering and physics behind my decisions rather than simply delivering a finished design. I can help evaluate whether an idea is realistic, estimate performance, compare different approaches, and turn concepts into practical prototypes. I am also experienced in coordinating mechanical, electronic, and firmware development when a project requires several engineering disciplines. Your proposed **$20/hour part-time arrangement is acceptable**, and I am interested in both paid engineering work and, if we work well together, discussing a longer-term technical partnership for selected projects. I can start immediately and would be glad to begin by reviewing one of your current ideas and defining the most realistic development path. Best regards Nichita

The hardest part of this job is filtering the wide range of technologies you are exploring down to the most viable mechanical and mechatronic implementations, so I will focus on CAD/CAM to prototype concepts and then simulate them using motion analysis tools to select materials and components that are technically realistic. I will build the Smart Hot-Bar system using SolidWorks for the CAD, selecting materials that can withstand the required temperatures and stresses, and also design the robotics components with a focus on Mechatronics, so the actuators and sensors work together efficiently. The most common failure for this kind of work is selecting components that don't integrate well or are not robust enough for the intended use, so I will cross-reference datasheets and also perform stress analysis in the CAD software before finalising designs. What are the specific operating temperature ranges and duty cycles for the Smart Hot-Bar system? I need the most critical project you want to tackle first, and once I have that, I will send back a structured proposal outlining the first phase of work. 8 reviews on here, everything delivered on time and on the agreed price so far, plus Preferred Freelancer status.

HI, KINDLY READ THROUGH MY PROPOSAL What stands out is that you are not looking for someone who simply produces CAD files. You need an engineer who can challenge an idea with physics first, explain why it will or won’t work, then turn the viable concept into something measurable and testable. I’d approach each project by: * translating the concept into physical requirements and constraints * validating forces, energy, motion, thermal/electrical behavior and feasibility before detailed design * developing CAD, selecting practical components/materials, then building around what can actually be sourced * testing prototypes against measurable results and iterating from the evidence My 6 years across engineering projects and 67+ completed projects give me the practical background to move between mechanical, electronics, CAD, automation and prototype development rather than treating each discipline separately. For your Smart Hot-Bar and future robotics/aerospace concepts, would you prefer starting with one project as a technical trial? What level of CAD/prototyping work do you already have? PLEASE INITIATE A CHAT if you'd like to review the implementation details before we begin.
