I need the following to be done. You must be familiar with R programming. You also have to write 3 pages. 2 pages on Part 1, and 1 page on Part 2. Both parts are given below:
Using matrix population models can be a useful conservation tool for developing management plans aimed at, 1) improving the population growth rate for a particular species or population of concern, or 2) limiting the spread or growth of an invasive species. Along these lines, for your assignment you are tasked with using a structured population projection matrix to devise management recommendations to either protect a species at risk, or control an invasive species. To accomplish this goal you will complete 2 tasks:
Task 1
======
Using published literature develop a matrix population model for your species of choice. Although it will be unlikely that you will be able to find exact values to populate your matrix, make sure that any choices you make are justified (e.g., research on yours or similar species) and cited appropriately. This section should include a labeled life cycle graph (included as a figure), a matrix populated with survivorship, transition and fecundity values (included as a table) and a brief justification for your model and values. (2 pages)
Task 2
======
Using your matrix population model and analysis in R, comment on 1) the current state of the problem (i.e., how fast is you species likely to expand or decline), and 2) make 2 targeted recommendations on how to conserve (or control) your species. Make sure your recommendations are justified through your R population modeling. For this section make sure you provide a least 1 figure and your R code as an appendix. Your recommendations should be brief and focus on what life stage should or/should not be targeted (i.e., interpretation of eigen analysis). No detail is required on specifically how you will achieve these objectives (1 page)
All page limits do not include figures, tables or references. Everything should be submitted as a single document with the suggested order of the document as, i) answers to questions I-‐II, literature cited, figures and tables, appendix with R code.
