Hi Spencer,
I have some experience with Selenium, chrome, and Python. I once wrote an application to scrape google image search results to save thumbnails. I encountered a similar issue with Captcha detecting and blocking my script. I was able to somewhat overcome this with several tricks, which I would try to implement for you. I would attempt the following over the next 2 days:
1. Implement some generic approaches for bypassing chrome's 'Is this a bot?' checks. These include sending spoofed display settings, languages, user agents, etc. with the webdriver request, as well as simulating human behavior by slowing things down, etc.
2. Experiment with the 'undetected-chromedriver' python package, which attempts much of the above to bypass captcha and other checks automatically.
These fixes may or may not work depending on the webpages you are visiting, but I can definitely find the time over the next couple of days to try them.
I am trying to boost my profile here so I'm happy to take a lower rate. If it's not working in 2 days (end of day Thursday, August 5, 2021) then you wouldn't have to pay.
I look forward to hearing back! Please be aware that I'm in UK and there is a time difference of at least 4 hours between here and US (currently 9:32 PM). I can work evenings up to midnight my time.
Kind regards,
Mason Landry
