Build a prototype software-as-a-service product

Introduction An AWS cloud architecture is required for demonstration of a prototype software-as-a-service product. The architecture will include hosting a html5 website, authenticating the User, monitoring User clicks, sending the User an email with an attachment, managing a micro service with database interaction, and a CI/CD pipeline for update of docker container in micro service. Preferred Architecture The preferred architecture is the architecture outlined in the AWS project “Build a Modern Web Application” ([login to view URL]). An extension to the project exists on GitHub with additional modules 6 and 7 ([login to view URL]). The AWS project offers different languages for the programmer. The Freelancer will use python for the programming language. User Experience The website will engage the User who is in the market for purchasing technically complex and expensive capital equipment in the energy industry. The website will ask questions from the User. The User responds by clicking the relevant answer. The User clicks are recorded and stored in DynamoDB database. During the experience, the User will choose to register an account. After registration, the User will answer additional questions which are also stored in the database for the User. A docker container with a program for creation of documents will retrieve data from the database, create the documents, then email document to the User. The micro service will update the User data and store the document and sample with other User data; alternatively, the micro service may store the documents in S3 with key from database to document and sample. Scope Inclusion Advise the Client on IAM settings for completion of scope by Freelancer. Advise the Client on IAM settings for Client to use Cloud9 IDE and CI/CD pipeline for update of docket container and maintenance of architecture. Build and configure AWS resources as per AWS project and the Project Details (this written specification). Substitute website from AWS project with html5 website provided by Client. Substitute docker image from AWS project with docker image provided by Client. Test the output of the html5 website for consistent and reproducible data from User clicks. Optimise architecture settings for minimum cost (performance is not a priority at this stage). Scope exclusions Development of html5 website. The Client will provide a html5 website for upload to S3 bucket. CloudFront is not required. The Client will add additional resources in the future. Amazon X-Ray is not required. The Client will add additional resources in the future. Module 6 or 7 (included in GitHub version) are not required. The Client will add additional resources in the future. Docker container (except as described in Acceptance Tests). Acceptance Tests Static website available on the internet and compatible with any mobile device. User authentication via email confirmation. Data retrieval from database by microservice. Data store to database by microservice. Document creation by microservice. Document email to User by microservice. Acceptance tests which involve the microservice will rely on the docker container provided by the Client. If the Client docker container does not perform as expected, the Freelancer will provide a dummy container with code that satisfies the acceptance tests. The code may be based on the python code provided in the AWS project, and modified for integration with this scope of work. Preferred Freelancer The preferred Freelancer is AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect.
