This is a simple rewrite of two History papers 1,000 words each.
1. Essay must respond to the following question: In what ways does the novel All Quiet on the Western Front reflect the fact that the Great War haunted many Europeans in the 1920s and early 1930s? Explain using specific and cited examples from the novel.
2. Essay must respond to the following question: According to Marrus, the “real alternative[s] to Nuremberg . . . were summary proceedings followed by speedy punishment—in all likelihood death. Without American pressure, this would probably have taken place.” (page 242). Does the evidence that Marrus offers in his book support his argument? Why or why not?
