I am an accountant and one of the products I offer is a product called fee protection insurance. This is insurance to cover my fees should there be a HMRC investigation and I am required to undertake additional work on the clients behalf. It works similar to most insurance you pay a small sum (£14.40 per month) and in return should there be a HMRC investigation into your tax affairs I will assist and the rather large bill (can be into the thousands) will be settled by the insurance company.
Most of my clients use a software called Quickfile ([url removed, login to view]) in order to preform their bookkeeping.
I would like to offer my fee protection insurance to the businesses on Quickfile. They have got an API that I assume would be helpful ([url removed, login to view]).
I am envisioning the ability for a business to go on Quickfile and via the apps section request fee protection insurance. The app will either link directly to Gocardless ([url removed, login to view]) or request the details required in order to take a Direct Debit payment from them (I can provide this information).
The app will then send me an email with the details of the new client.
My knowledge of all things IT is not very strong and I have no idea if this is even possible but if you could make this work or have a similar suggestion then please get in touch.
I do not have a detailed timeline or budget for this project. Although sooner rather than later would be preferred.
