XML Data Feed into a Database

Required: Database Expert - MySQL or other and have good GUI skills. XML Expert (data feed will come in this format) – so it’s critical to know how to import XML data logically into the database. Should also know: Algorithm knowledge – Optimization / Solver Algorithm - i believe the algorithm we need has likely been published and is readily available, but, maybe not. The Basic Statement of Work: Data will be pushed to an FTP site – data is in XML format. Database must automatically go look for only NEW data files on the FTP hosted site, and download them automatically every 5 minutes. OLD data, will either be deleted, or archived for some period of time, new data will always replace ALL current data. Database must store the XML data in tables logically designed to filter the data for later use and run optimizer algorithms. Database must have an optimizer / solver algorithm able to solve the optimization “question” based on a set of constraints – in most cases the constraints are 8-10 in number, and the variables are no more than 350. Can send example in Excel when needed... GUI / Database Filters - the final piece is that some of the data lines may be “locked in” or "locked out” of the equation - with the database filters we would need a way to easily select data that would help filter all of the data in the database, before running the optimization algorithm. Again, not many constraints here… up to 6 independent filter would be likely – items such as Site, Time, Individual Name, Team Name are data points that you could filter out or lock in before you run the optimization. Not looking for anything fancy – using as much basic free software as possible –the data and database will be hosted locally on a PC – FTP site will likely be EvaVault.com.
