I WANT TO UPDATE ON WEBSITE LINKS THE MD5 algorithms will no longer be accepted by the MasterCard Payment Gateway. Merchants currently using MD5 algorithms will need to upgrade to SHA256 algorithms to avoid interruption to service after this point. MD5 Hash is an outdated hash function that produces a 128 bit hash value. It is considered to be vulnerable and is an unsupported integration type. SHA-2 (Secure Hash Algorithm) is an updated set of cryptographic hash algorithms that is considered to be secure by the payments industry. SHA-256 (256 bit hash value) is the most common bit length in use.
