I'm working on a non-conventional Android application that needs to make use of the Portaudio sound library.
Unfortunately this library does not officially support Android and my knowledge are limited in order to proper compile and make this library working.
There are two old and abandoned "portaudio-android" projects on [url removed, login to view] that make use of the opensles hostapi in order to drive the audio streams but I can't really figure out how to compile a working *.so file from these.
I enclose to this project a Python Kivy application that use the PyAudio module to record and play a 5 second audio sample.
Because PyAudio rely on Portaudio, it correctly works in a Ubuntu Linux environment but it doesn't on Android where the Portaudio is not indeed available.
The project goal is to produce a working version of the Portaudio shared library and provide both the compiled *.so and the source code.
Please note that PyAudio is not intended to be the final intent of the library, but indeed is being used just for test purpose that the input/output audio streams are loaded correctly in Portaudio/Android
please download [url removed, login to view] (latest file) and discard the other ones
