I wrote a few applications using Codeigniter/PHP but now need to rewrite using Laravel, My previous Codeigniter/PHP was a more of a hack at providing RESTful services and I just don't have the time to master a new framework. Larvavel looks like it provides the right framework for my application and provides much of what I had to custom code before.
I'm very flexible with this project but do not want to pay anyone to learn Laravel as I will gladly pay more per hour for the right developer who knows what they are doing versus going with a low-ball proposal with someone that isn't experienced with Laravel. In the nicest of ways, this means that I will only be responding to proposals if you have a strong record of previous Laravel project experience.
I'm smart enough to know how to give you good design requirements and to know when a task should take 10 hours and not 20. I won't quibble with you if you say the work took more than initially expected -- I am reasonable -- but I will want to understand the work you completed before I assign more.
The core application is a subscription service which will require you to be familiar with Laravel's Cashier and leveraging Stripe. For example, a Gold/Silver/Bronze level monthly subscription will have different prices and each level providing access to different resources and policies. A $10/month Gold subscription might provide full access to all features and 100k views per month where the $5/month Bronze level would provide only limited features. The application must have user authentication (username/pw login) as well as provide oAuth support. Some of the admin features will likely have tasks/schedules which crawl a few external websites, parse some data, load it into mySQL, etc. Easy stuff with Laravel, right!
