Stock portfolio game server

I looking for help to set up a server which she’ll be able to serve about 1000 users. The idea of the project is to create a small server which can run a sort of stock trading game. The users shall receive about 100,000 imaginary dollars upon signing up and be able to Buy and sell stuck to their imaginary portfolio. The server needs to be able to download stock prices for about 100 different stocks every 15 minutes. The users she’ll be able to create their own portfolio of stocks and have them present it to them on a webpage of some sort. Does the server needs to be able to calculate their winnings and losses and presented in some table or maybe even with the graph. When the game is over the server also needs to be able to calculate who won the game. The winner will just be the person with the most money at the end of the game time. Some sort of live top score list would be nice. I have little experience with HTML and python. I also have experience in setting up Files servers. It would be nice if the project was partially in python. But let us discuss this. We also need to discuss which APIs can be used retrieving stock prices. But I have little experience in setting up a server like this. I would prefer the project to be scalable thus I think cloud hosting is the way to go... However since it is trying times economically maybe we need to discuss local hosting as an option.
