I'm really looking for someone that can be our "go to" coder for various small (and maybe medium-sized) tasks. Depending on how well we work together (and what we can afford), we will gradually expand to do more and more.
We have a small business built on web-based software that was created about 8 years ago, consisting of a combination of Moodle, VBulletin, Amember Pro, a little Wordpress, an Amazon S3 bucket, and some custom code that ties it all together and customizes the functionality. We have now been forced to migrate to a new server running php 5.6 (it previously ran on 5.2) so that we can incorporate the Stripe payment gateway (which we need you to implement, as well).
We have spent time mirroring our site and getting most of it working on a provisioning server, but there are a few things that are still not working correctly, and we need someone who can get in there, figure it out, and fix them. If you have EXPERIENCE with these programs (preferably the older versions) and you're amazing with code (PHP/MySQL), please reach out to us. There's a lot of redundancy and unused code, and some customized ways of getting one piece to talk to the other, so we need someone who can understand and untangle it easily, and write fixes and workarounds if needed.
Later this year, we hope to rebuild the system from the ground up, to simplify and streamline things, and to enable us to add additional functionality and features. Naturally, we hope to work with the same person/people who have learned how the system works from doing these smaller jobs. So while our budget is limited on these initial "handyman" type jobs, I am hoping to build a long-term relationship with a great developer that we can work with will into the future. We have very exciting plans for upcoming versions.
If this sounds interesting to you (and you're sure you can do it), I look forward to your bid. Communication is absolutely critical to me, so if your bid shows an awareness of our budget AND the ability to communicate well, I'll give you user-level access to the system so you can see how it works, and we can discuss the mechanics of it first, to make sure we're both on the same page. And since clarity is essential, and we need to make sure you have an eye for detail, please start your bid by writing the words: 'I have read evverything and I'm a wiz.' (Please include it in your note exactly as it appears here.)
Thanks for your interest! I look forward to working with you.
