This is a browser-based visual medical research experiment that needs to be ported to a new site/host. It measures the vision of patients before and after they have played multiple "games" to see if the visual games help with their vision problems. It is complete and currently being used on a web site in the UK and they are sharing the source code with us to run a second, independent, version – but not online.
I'd like to run it on USB sticks that will be given to patients - so it will be browser-based as before, but won't require an internet connection.
There are 8 elements to the research experiment:
• 5 Flash/SWF games, built with action script, for patients to complete
• 3 Flash/SWF data analyzing components for researchers to review the data saved by the game components.
All finished source files from the original site are available: HTML, FLA , SWF, AS, sample data.
I will also provide access to a GoDaddy Linux web hosting site for testing purposes.
Other than installing the files on the new site, the job requires minor action script changes to each of the 8 components so each one writes data to a local XML file instead of a remote SQL server (as it currently does).
There will also be a minor change within the last game component to modify the number of cycles a patient takes before they are returned to start the web tool again. (Instead of restarting the whole process after playing the final game 400 times, there will be no end. The patient will keep doing the last game until they return the USB stick to the researchers).
And, finally, there is one PHP file that the project creators use to export the data on the remote SQL server to an Excel file. As we won't be storing the data on a remote SQL server, I'll need to the PHP file updated to convert the local XML data to an Excel file.
Three files are attached:
• An instruction sheet from the experiment creators outlining the 8 components
• A zipped sample component
• Zipped PHP file
Please let me know if you need any further information to provide an estimate. Project will start immediately after an Elancer is chosen.
