This software is in its initial stages and will be handed over to someone else once I leave and would like to give them a good base to continue developing on after. I am fairly new to Python and have very little time to do what needs to be done.
I need a software that helps individuals to decide the best remote sensing product to use for forest applications. Remote sensing come from various platforms - satellite, aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The products from such platforms are varied and come in many different forms - stuff that will be added on over time by individuals more experienced than myself in the field.
The programme will ask 3 question with a certain number of options for each question. The user will select one option from each question, and, for now, we're assuming every option leads to every other (ie 5 x 6 x 7 combinations).
Question 1: At what level of detail do you require your data to be?
b. Plot of Trees
c. Forest Stand
d. Regional Forests
e. Continental Forests
Question 2: At what scale would you want this measurement done?
a. Plot (1 km)
b. Forest Stand (10 km)
c. Regional (100 km)
d. National (1000 km)
e. Continental (> 1000 km)
Question 3: At what time or frequency would you require your data?
f. 1 - 5 years
g. > 5 years
I am thinking of having the programme draw data from a .txt file so it is easy to manipulate. This software therefore needs to be "open-ended" in a sense, allowing future developers to add recommendations according to their own experience of what type of product is most suitable for the options chosen. This long term plan for this is for it to become an Swift app in the future, and also available as a website, so please also bear this in mind.
Thank you! =)

I've been working with Python for a long time and this kind of application can be done in little time and with a small wage, compared with the average.
