I have a PHP loop that takes too long to update my database. The code works as it is but times out, even when settting like 20 minutes timeout in [login to view URL]
I am asking for a resulting python (maybe?) script that would do the same update routine on a MySQL local database, from the console, taking as long as it needs, giving progress feedback. The source is a CSV document. The original code is poorly structured and may need optimization. Originally done in PHP / Laravel 5.
I will provide a sample (shorter CSV input file), the actual code (200 line + 1 or two conversion functions) and the main database, in a shorter form.
You will provide open local code that will work on a generic local mysql database.
Hi there. I'm a PHP coder, not a Python coder, but I imagine I can probably optimize your PHP script to get this to run faster, perhaps using multi-threading or optimized sql statements.
I'd love to chat and have a look at your script to see if there is anything I can do.

Hello. I have read your project description but I need to ask few questions. I wouldn't call myself a master but I do work smart and my first priority is to satisfy my clients. Please feel free to ping me anytime so we can have a detailed discussion.
Hello,
I'm not totally sure by the description, would getting it optimized in PHP (instead of converting it) be an option? I have quite a bit of experience with big data on PHP/MySQL and can probably get it running properly.
Thanks!
Keith
Hello,
I can check why your php script is taking so long,
or write a new one using PHP, Python, Bash or anything else.
My idea is to use the MySQL LOAD DATA INFILE, for faster processing.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I understand that you're looking for a program that replicates your business logic and shows in the terminal the number of processed rows.
I coded several years with LAMP and I work right now with Python and mysql. I used to work with big tables in Gameloft at the BI area and have experience with stored procedures, functions and temporal tables.
I should read the code in order to have a better grasp of the problem.
Don't hesitate to ask any doubt.
Best regards,
Alejandra Martini
