Problem with taxonomy group's data displaying in custom post type

I have a plugin for soccer matches. The plugin has custom post type "Season" and taxonomy "Matchday." It's under matchdays that you create a match. Matchday taxonomy groups all matches of a particular day. The problem is that matches are showing under matchdays well but not in the custom post type. There is a miscommunication between the custom post type "Season" and taxonomy group data matches. Creating the matches manually from matchday works but whenever I import (even the same export) custom post type is disassociated from matchdays leaving matches to show only under the taxonomy. A little help with tweaking will be appreciated.
