Hi there, I need a 3,000+ word report with descriptions of the technologies/processes I can use to create an Online Interactive Map. I need some graphics and links showing how these have been implemented before. Details on the bandwidth I would need (per each map visitor) would be good too. The map will be built from scratch, Google/Yahoo Maps is not an option, unfortunately. My map will be similar in navigation/design to the map found at: [url removed, login to view] - My map will have a few more advanced features though (See Description Below). THE FEATURES: I want to build a detailed Worldwide map with pin-point accuracy. Search Locations via Postcode or drag the map using the mouse. Users can Bookmark locations, Zoom In & Out and Enter exact coordinates. Users need to be able to capture pin-point coordinates of a location using a mobile phone. They need to somehow send their mobile phone location to my map; which could then be used to place a marker on the map. Users can place a marker (custom graphics) on the map & then upload a Video, Photograph and Profile to that marker. Other users can navigate the map and view the profile/media in a pop-up semi-transparent window. Could I overlay a photograph on the map itself. Users could place a marker, upload a photo & that photo would then become the background for that area of the map. I want visitors to be able to track me via GPS on the map too. Could I have a graphic representing me, plotted on the map so users can logon to the site & see where I am? Live! I need Pin-Point accuracy with good looking (Vector) graphics that load quickly. How can I have a great looking, graphical map that loads quickly with low bandwidth requirements? If you can think of any other general details that I am missing, please include them in the report to help me with my project decisions. Thanks.
3,000+ Words in PDF or .Doc format. Easy to understand (for a non-technical mind) with integrated images showing how the technolgies/processes described have been implemented before in other services. Links to further information, graphics and so on
