I have a new WordPress site. I installed the "All in one SEO" plugin and I can't get it to work – It appears to be working properly but I can’t get the Meta description to show up in the page source. It looks like this in the source:
<meta name="description" content="" />
also, this line is not in the source like it usually is when All in One SEO is working properly, <!-- All in One SEO Pack 18.104.22.168 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[316,349] -->
The header template I’m using looks like this:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[url removed, login to view]">
<html xmlns="[url removed, login to view]" <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
<title><?php wp_title('«', true, 'right'); ?><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></title>
<meta name="description" content="<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>" />
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo get_option('sitekeywords', 'the, canyon, web sites, clean, dark, useful, etc...'); ?>" />
I also installed WordPress SEO and couldn't get results with that either.
With the Backup Buddy plugin, the database backup works but not the full backup. I get the error: Invalid Zip Format or In Progress.
Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/outofthe/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backupbuddy/lib/zip/[url removed, login to view] on line 144
Native zip function unavailable or failed: Backup file couldn't be created without entering slower compatibility mode.
Falling back to compatibility method. Note that this method is slower and cannot exclude directories.
I just want to get these plugins working or another way to backup and include meta description in the page source.
