We currently have a fairly large WordPress site housed on a VPS but the hosting account is slow and we are not happy with the loading time and glitches. Thus, we are ready to move the site to a dedicated server. Both hosts have cPanel and root access. Thus, this project has two elements, as outlined below:
1) Move the WordPress site to the dedicated server and get it set up and running properly, this means setting up name servers and any other element to ensure a smooth transfer from our current host to the new dedicated servers.
2) Previously we had a programmer install Varnish a cache plugin, and thereafter they installed XCahce. None of these did much to help the server load any faster, in fact, now each time I publish a WordPress post the HTTPD stops and the site is down, so I have to go in to ROOT and restart HTTPD manually. We need to remove Varnish / Xfactor from the database and backend so that these issues do not occur. With a dedicated server we should need to have to worry about finding ways to make the site load quickly.
I would like this done ASAP, but please note that the database is large, so it may take some time to transfer. Thus, it would be ideal if you had a fast internet connection and server admin experience.
