I currently have an installation of Invision Power Board (IPB; <[login to view URL]> ) on my website.
I would like a PHP script developed that will go retrieve usenet/newgroup articles from an NNTP server, and import them into a specific form. The source newgroup, newserver username/password, the newsgroup server domain, and the destination IPB forum should all be definable parameters.
The structure of the newsgroup message should remain in place. E.g., all replies to a specific message in the newsgroup should show up as a replies to that same subject within the IPB forums.
NNTP Posting should be supported. If a reply to a newsgroup message takes place through the IPB forum interface, the message will be posted to the forum immediately and submitted to the newsserver for posting.
There is a Pear library that supports the retrieval of newsgroup messages from an NNTP library :

There are two ways to enhance the functionality of IPB. You can either write an add-on module ( modules/[login to view URL] is located within the IPB install directory ), or you can use the IPB SDK located here :

## Deliverables

## Platform
The outlined program will run as a cronjob. It will be developed in PHP. Target platform : PHP 4.X, Apache webserver. The webserver for which this script runs on is a standard LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) configuration.
