I am heading a project to implement a software solution for my employer, a residential electrical company. With the recent growth that we are experience we are in need of a software solution to help manage our business. This project consists of two parts. First is the need to accurately control our inventory through some management system. We currently use job-estimating software, which generates a material list that can be broken into the various phases involved (i.e. Underground, Rough-In, Trim Out, Service, etc.). The software in place allows us to export a comma-delimited file, which we would like to have imported into a mySql database. Once in that database this application would allow for any material list to be pulled when scheduled from stock and allow for real time inventory control as the material is pulled from our warehouse. The second part of this project is to allow for other information regarding that job to be stored as well in the database. This will include such information relating to the various phases and jobs such as details concerning a job (i.e. builder, superintendent, lot number, address, sq. footage, etc.), dates for scheduling and completion, as well as time spent per employee per phase. The end result will be the ability to query for an actual cost per job calculating hours spent and material used against a pre estimated cost and profit margin given for that job.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
This application will be used on several windows based computers on a LAN with the database stored on a dedicated local computer. The application may be browser based if necessary.
