[url removed, login to view] Project Description
Looking to have a url shortcut service website created for my domain name “[url removed, login to view]”
I have graphically designed the website, now I need a webmaster to create it. I am seeking a motivated individual who strives for perfection and professionalism. I would like the site to look exactly as how I have it illustrated in my images. What will set this url shortcut service aside from its competitors is its ease of use, as well as its modifying tools which may not be offered by other shortcut services. Users will have the ability to request a sub domain they desire, if that name is already taken, they will be directed to the “that shortcut has already been created by someone else” page… with 5 other sub domain options which will have word relation to their original request, potentially with letter/number combo’s depending on what’s available at the time.
The website will consist of 5 categories
Home, Most popular, Newest, Oldest, Manage.
Most of the website interface has been graphically designed with the exception of a couple of areas.
Users must have the ability to do the following:
Create url shortcuts
Login to the Manage area to MODIFY their shortcut
Modifications will include; ability to change the address of where their sub domain points to, update their email address (not required), change access code, email shortcut, delete shortcut.
This is how the process must work in a sequence of events;
User visits [url removed, login to view]
User pastes original long URL in provided space
User request sub domain in provided space
User clicks “create shortcut” button
Next page > “You’re almost done page” >
At this point the user will be required to complete one final step to finalize the creation of the shortcut, that step being to create an “access code”.
Once completed, user will be directed to the “your shortcut has been created” page.
At this page, the shortcut will be displayed and below it will read, “In 5 seconds, you will be redirected to the Manage area for this shortcut”.
5 seconds later, the user is directed to the Manage area for that specific shortcut.
The manage area of the website is signed into by using the created sub domain as the [username] and the access code as the [password].
Users will not be required to provide their email address when creating shortcuts, for discouragement related issues. Although, once singed into the Manage area for a specific shortcut, the user will have the option of providing their email, which will be strictly for “forgot access code” recovery. If any user decides to provide their email, an automatically generated email will be sent to the supplied email with details on that specific shortcut, such as the shortcut > example: [url removed, login to view] & the shortcuts access code. This will help prevent users from forgetting their access code as well as the sub domain they created, or were provided with via auto-generated.
The “Home” section of the website will be displayed with an example shortcut box, as well as the fields required to create a shortcut and the auto-generate.
The “Most Popular” section of the website must list the 500 most visited shortcuts in order, 100 per page, 5 pages. (Link clickable)
The “Newest” section of the website will list the 500 most recently created shortcuts. (Link clickable)
The “Oldest” section of the website will list the first 500 saygo shortcuts created of course. (Link clickable)
The “Manage” section of the website will be a sign in page, where the user will be required to enter their sub domain as their username, and their access code as their password to login.
If a user should decide to delete any shortcut they created, that shortcut must be removed from the database and become available to be re-created.
Each clickable button for the website will have a rollover effect from light blue, to dark blue.
The chosen individual/group for this project will be required to create the website, upload and install the website to my hosting account, provide all code and necessary information to me. Must be able to communicate directly with me, by phone/skype/msn. The chosen individual/group must NOT outsource this project to another group/individual.
Managing your shortcut in the future will allow you to
Change the URL your sub-domain points to, share with
Friends and delete if no longer desired.
Creating an “Access Code” will allow you to Change the
URL your sub-domain points to, share with Friends and
delete if no longer desired.
I would like the auto-generate portion of the website to work in the following manner;
User paste’s “original URL” in box, if user decides to click mouse in the “[url removed, login to view]” box field,
the sub-domain that is about to be auto-generated…is displayed in this box (must auto-update). This area cannot be
changed by the user as it is an auto-generated field. The auto-generate must work in a numbered sequence, starting at “1”. Should a number be generated that has already been created by another user via the request specific sub-domain, the auto-generate must skip that number, moving on to the following.
The chosen individual/group is welcome to change graphics/styling of this website if they feel it can improve design. Alterations must be reviewed for approval.
The chosen individual/group must be willing to keep contact for potential payable upgrades/alterations/revisions.
