WANT A BETA SITE TO GO LIVE BY JUNE 1st, Full site by end of June / beginning of July. (with ongoing work thru summer)
Two options for getting paid:
1) Traditional - place a bid and get paid, as normal on [url removed, login to view]
-- OR --
2) Agree to work on this project over the course of the next year, and take a cut of the proceeds once we monetize (willing to negotiate - perhaps 15-20% of profits for first year)
* option #2 will incentivize the freelancer to be more invested in the project, and will yield a bigger payout for them, in the long-term.
SO PLEASE DETAIL HOW YOU WOULD PLAN TO DO THIS:
PHASE 1 (beta)
PHASE 2 (final)
Requirements (General & Technical)
Think Craigslist meets Facebook meets Peapod (LINK HERE)
Social media-centric, errand sharing site.
Main idea of the site is for people to share their grocery and other shopping lists with people. They also participate by shopping for others.
Online payment system, with escrow features, will be ideal. Could be homegrown system, like [url removed, login to view] -
However, it's probably best if it's something like an integration with a common vendor though - like Paypal. (so people can pay for the shopping services they received; so people can receive payment for shopping services they performed)
Built to scale - starting within a community in a city, then a state, then nationwide in the U.S. - so user base is expected to grow exponentially over the next year.
Built to scale also with functionality - like native and integrated functionality - like better menus, better user interface as we get feedback from users; also, FB, Twitter integration to start in this project - but later, we'll want to add even more features of integration
So the above makes scalable and strong programming principles to be employed when building this site
Plugins should be easy to add-in later (like for Wordpress Custom sites/themes, you can easily add in useful plugins via their CMS)
Will center around users using the site for free to obtain basic functionality.
Will offer less advertising and more features to premium members. (will want the application built to scale to more than 1 tier of membership, over time)
Will have several integration points to social media and other applications/sites (should be built to scale)
Will only have some integration initially for this phase of the project - mainly Facebook and Twitter integration
Open to PHP, .NET or ColdFusion technologies to build the site in - will accept the bid with the most justification as to which platform makes the most sense. (we can support all of these platforms)
Something clean and simple like a combination of these sites:
[url removed, login to view]
Once signed up for a free or member's account, you should go directly to your main page (ie. dashboard)
Dashboard should include the following:
-People in my ShareCart
-Stores in my ShareCart
-Items to be bought in my ShareCart
-Items recently purchased in my ShareCart
-Who is running specials
-Stores in my Territory
-My Shopping Schedule (When I am Shopping)
-Who is currently shopping
-When others are shopping
-What others are buying
Would be nice to have function kind of like Google Dashboard (iGoogle) pages - customization, where you can close, minimize, customize, etc., each module/widget in your dashboard
Again, needs to be able to scale - so should be built on the app and DB side to scale later on as the site grows
