New Modern Website Design - repost

We have an existing website at Meridix.com. Our live streaming service allows any sports team to provide their fans with a professional, ESPN style experience for local sporting events. Such customers might include broadcasters, radio and TV stations, newspapers, colleges, high schools, minor league teams, amateur teams, etc.

However, as you can see (at [url removed, login to view]), the website has three major problems......

1) The look and feel is OLD and OUTDATED

The existing website, while functioning properly, looks very "web 1.0", like a website from 1999. The graphics and design elements aren't very sharp, and the layout is not particularly intuitive. Some images look like clip art, and it looks like an amateurish website. We want the website to be completely redone so that it has a clean, modern, "web 3.0" design. Design wise, it should be on par with any major website. In fact, to guide you, here is a list of websites we like:

Most are clean, simple, and you can instantly recognize what product they are providing within an instant. Our site should do the same.

2) It appeals to the audience/listeners/viewers, rather than INTRODUCE OUR SERVICE to potential customers

We feel like the front pages of our website right now serve as more of a portal to fans and viewers trying to find webcasts, rather than introducing our services to potential broadcaster customers. Instead, we feel like it should be the other way around, like the sites above. Our customers will still have search functionality and ability to browse broadcasts and such (and will obviously still have their account pages), but the first thing they see "above the fold" on our home page should be info highlighting the service, and quick links to detailed info, pricing and plans, etc. Other "current live webcasts" and upcoming can come under that, or on separate pages, as you recommend.

3) The LAYOUT of the website pages and content areas is a little confusing

It seems like there is a very inconsistent set of pages on the site, that all look different, and with different graphics, organization, layouts, etc. It sometimes seems a bit confusing for the user. Instead, we think more consistent design elements, CSS, and other modern web design techniques can enhance the look and feel of the website. We also want you to reorganize the site to make it easier to find information and more be intuitive. Think of an efficient/intuitive site map. For example, we think that our support pages have too much info on one page, and instead should be broken up into different pages and areas, etc. So we need your site design expertise, not just raw html/css skills.

Our site runs on PHP, however, you will NOT need you to do any programming for this project. We'll handle any PHP integration etc. What we need from you would be the images/CSS/html for static pages, how the pages would look in a browser. We should be able to take the files you give us, put them on a web server, and open them in a browser. You can design using psd files from photoshop etc, but the final delivered product to us needs to be modern CSS/HTML/images/content which we can be viewed in any web browser.

Our website is large, but you won't have to do everything in this first phase. If we like your work, we'll work with you on subsequent phases in the future. For phase one, we need the following redone (SEE ATTACHED FILE)

Solution should work in ALL major browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, Opera etc) consistently and on all major webservers. Examples, mockups, or other illustrations you can provide will help you win the bid. We will not award the project without seeing substantial details about your intentions for our project. Throwing random portfolio examples at us will not help - please show relevant, specific examples or mockups.
