Customise parts of my website as well as possibly create child theme or help convert to a new WP theme

I am reasonably new to Wordpress and coding and have probably designed my website using a poor theme. The 3 main things I wish to achieve is 1) a template for my website with which to design a static home page on that does not show just my posts like my current home page does 2) change some of the coding so that the "menu" titles do not appear at the top of the "pages" and "posts" 3) possibly have a child theme set up or be assisted to migrate to a new theme suggested by you if these options are not able to be achieved with the current "pinboard" theme. The look I was hoping for, for the static front page although not identical can be viewed at [login to view URL] I am hoping to have a mini slider as well as areas to place images to link out to the podcast, special offers, certain areas of the website etc to assist people when they land on the website. Obviously I am just looking for a template and I would create the content and further add to the template when needed. So far as removing the menu titles from the posts and pages I believe it can be done without a child theme however I am looking for advice on this. I am currently learning how to alter code with Notepad ++ so should a child theme be the best option I should be able to manage once a child theme is set up but am lacking the confidence to currently perform this So just recapping 1) Create a template for a static hompage similar to that of [login to view URL] with a mini slider, areas where I can drop clickable images into for podcast, special information. An area where I can put pictures and information in a column layout to link to certain parts of the website. A area to place a feed of the latest podcasts and posts 2) Changing of code to remove "menu titles" from the top left hand part of all "posts and pages" 3) Creation of a child theme and/or migration to a theme suggested by you Thank you for taking to time to read my over detailed description
