The users of the system are:
• Staff at the estate agents who manage the buying and selling of properties
• General public who want to sell their property
• General public who want to buy a property
The staff receive instructions from sellers. This includes the property location, description, photographs and price. The staff then place the property details on the system.
The staff also record the sellers details.
The staff can view and edit the appointments calendar
Sellers use the website to fill in the property details
Sellers can view and edit the appointment calendar
Sellers receive notification regarding future appointments
Buyers use the website to search for available properties
Buyers can set up search criteria to receive notifications when new properties are place on the website which meet their requirements
Buyers register their details on the system.
There are two physical websites one for the staff and one for the general public. The website used by the estate agent staff is only accessible from within the internal network of Franklin James. Each member of staff has to login to use the system
The other website used by the buyers and sellers is accessible via the internet.
The purpose of having two websites is to ensure that the general public cannot access and carry out functions, which are only designed to be used by the estate agent staff.
Buyers and sellers also need to login to change or update their details.
The appointment calendar is used to schedule appointments in conjunction with the seller’s availability for viewing properties
