In MSN Messenger 6 and above, it can log all of the conversation to a text file. Under the Tools / Options menu you can turn on/off the logging with a checkbox and also tell it where to save the messages to.
I need a routine written in VB 6.0 that will turn on the logging and set the location of where to save the conversations to. I did look in the registry and saw where it saves this info. But for the loging enabled part, it puts a 0 for no logging with is simple but for turned on, it has a set of characters and numbers which means it could be encoded. But thats for you to check out and see.
I downloaded a program from [login to view URL] for comparing saved registries to see the difference when it is on and off. This is a good place to start.
I just want a form with a button that I click and runs the routine and sets the logging for ALL MSN Messenger users in the registry. It will turn ON the logging and also let me change the location of the text file.
The changes must be done through the registry from VB itself. Basically you just need to figure out what is placed in the registry for when logging is enabled and do this for all users names.
Because the last couple people have not had the best of luck with this, I would greatly appreciate a compiled exe as a demo to shwo you can do this. If you do and the bid is reasonable, I will accept your bid faster. And more work will follow.
It MUST be done in VB 6.0 though.
Thank you
