533878 Client/Server Task Distributor

I want to create a task distributor system for my staff. There should be 2 software, the client and the server. The Client ---------- A Visual Basic 6 Application (NO .NET please, NO Object Orientation please) that will receive messages from the server. The client is already written in Visual Basic 6.0 and works fine. I only need documentation on the Network Part of it. The Server: ---------- PHP scripts that will send messages to the client. Should use PHP as scripting language and MySQL as database, since this will be operated by a technician, this should be operated with text scripts. The server has an interface that stopped working. I only need basic scripts that control the client. There are 2 type of messages that could be received by client: 1. Automated tasks 2. Manual Intervention Tasks 1. Automated Tasks ------------------ The automated tasks will receive instructions from server and execute them when client has Internet access without user intervention. Tipically the automated tasks will include sending content to certain sites. For this phase, only 1 automated task of this type will be requested to be added to the software. 2. Manual Intervention Tasks ---------------------------- The application receive the messages from server waiting for the task be completed by user. When the task is completed by user, the information requested will be stored at the central database. The manual intervention tasks will be subscribe to certain site and register their login information in the central database with the date the action was made. Every automated task should be executed by the same PC that was used to register the login access. For this phase, only 1 type of Manual Intervention task will be requested. The software should be downloaded only once. (This is already done) Programmer should provide documentation and code should be SIMPLE. Winning bids will get the source code of the client and the server to help them fix this software or rewrite if necessary.
