465001 Software Engineer wanted

Software Engineer wanted for long term position. You will be required to negotiate protocols with hardware such as serial, parallel and USB ports, if you are unable to do this then please do not apply or bother reading further, sorry to be curt but we really do need a software engineer / programmer who understands how to interrogate hardware. The software is a graphic project based on the following: 1. The user will open / import a graphic file that will be one of the popular formats such as .ai, .svg, .plt. etc. 2. The user will be able to scale, skew, rotate, nest, or otherwise manipulate (much more than shown) the existing file until they are happy with the finished result 3. The user will then be able to send the file to the selected port and then use a cutting plotter to cut the file. a. Each cutting plotter will have a dedicated configuration file that allows communication, we can help with this b. The communication port must be able to be detected or selected by the user c. The software will allow graphic 'libraries' to be imported for use by the user In essence the above details the very simple version of what we require, obviously it is not this simple and we will want more and more features building in to the software over time. We can show the chosen person (not anybody else) a similar program that already exists and is at an early stage of what we require. Above all the software needs to be secure, with Internet password checking along with hardware detection etc. We do NOT want to use dongles. The cost reflects on-going programming, we would expect the project to be at V1.0 release phase within 3 months but the cost reflects 12 months' work. We also have many other projects that will be presented to the chosen person/s when relevant.
