I'm looking for someone who is able to set up a Private Channel on Roku.
I'm trying to put together a channel that has a really easy interface to load videos into. I'll probably update content and then finalize the programming schedule the day prior to when it's supposed to go out. I'm not sure how this stuff works, but I love to learn so please don't be afraid to tell me an idea I have is misconstrued. From my rudimentary understanding of the process, this is what I think I want. On my computer, I compile the programing for a day, then at a certain time (say midnight) I load that calendar of programming to a server that the Roku channel is pulling content from.
Additionally, I want to know which Roku's are watching the private channel and keep track of their location and information in a database.
Back end interface:
Needs a calendar
You click on a date and it pulls up a second by second breakdown of the day.
I want to be able to stack video files (MKV ([url removed, login to view]), MP4 ([url removed, login to view]), MOV ([url removed, login to view]), WMV/ASF (WMV9/VC-1)) into this calendar like I would stack Appointments into an Outlook calendar.
Meaning literally, I want to drag my cursor and highlight a range of time --> right click --> have a screen with drop down menu/ text-entry bar that goes over all the video properties (below) and confirms the time I want the videos to run (Pacific Standard Time) as well as lets me upload the video (in one of the above formats) and save all the information to that slot.
I will want to keep track of the following video properties in a database, so that I can search for them easily (I'll fill these out at the same time I upload the videos into the Calendar):
Category: Commercial (red), Content (blue)
Length: in minutes and seconds
Title: Name of Video
Owner: Sponsor of Video
Time of run: (Hour; minutes; seconds)
-If a commercial-: $ paid
Need a list of all active Roku's streaming the channel.
Vendors listed alphabetically
All Vendors that are registered that aren't streaming need to be on top of list.
That means I need a way to recognize the various Roku's streaming my channel. It's a private channel, so only the people I want to have it will have it. During the "install" - the initial set up screen of my channel on their Roku - the install team will set up a name to identify the Roku, and fill in any other properties for that Roku. Once those properties are submitted, they either need to lock, or there needs to be a record of all edits.
Vendor Database (to be filed out during Roku install):
Name of Vendor: Vendor's name
Contact information for Vendor: Phone Number, Address and email
Channel Front End:
For the video playback of the Roku channel, I would like the viewers to see a seamless stream of content, whatever has been programmed into the backend for that day.
Everytime a new piece of content plays it'd be great if for the first three seconds, a transparent logo comes up on the bottom right hand corner on top of whatever is playing. I can send you the logo later this week, whenever you need it by.
When a Roku owner turns on this station for the first time, they need to fill in their data, otherwise, it just needs to start playing the content.
