I need to control 10 sets of lights. (4 amps each set.) The lights will need to be turned on or off according to data contained online. This data will be posted to a web server either on the PLC itself or another PC on the same LAN. The data will be light_set, Date_Time_ON, Date_Time_OFF
• If the data is withheld on a PC then the PLC will need to open a file (or query a database) on that PC and switch the lights accordingly.
• If the PLC operates a web server and the data can be posted to the PLC then the PLC will need to save the data in an appropriate format. The PLC will then need to query the data and switch the lights accordingly.
Can you please answer these questions:
Is a PLC the best way or a good way to go for this project?
If the answer to the above is yes then:
• You will need to assist with a choosing an appropriate PLC.
• Program the PLC.
