This is a repost of an earlier project to create an entirely new tool - we've decided to rewrite our current one because no one had good examples of writing one from scratch. We have a working example that we will furnish to you.
We are looking for somebody who is a pro in mysql and php and has experience with ERP or other business management systems to rewrite an existing web based order management system and include several upgrades. this application will handle all orders for a business including phone, fax and web generated orders. This is NOT a shopping cart application nor a web design project ....
Current Tables we have include:
Items (Order Details)
a) application must retain all the data currently existing while adding tables and fields as necessary.
b) current application has a very basic interface - show an example of the interface sophistication you will deliver, show job number in corners, configurable screen colors for various users
c) attached files - currently we store 1 thumbnail and 1 artwork file with each order - we want to change this to associate thumbnails to items in the order instead of the order itself (there many be may items in one order) keep ALL versions of the thumbnails rather than only the latest
d) forms - Various PDF forms need to be generated from the data - must develop a good way to create and store form templates that will be emailed and printed from the system
e) API - must develop interface to call API on external website which has web submitted orders which will be imported to this system
f) searching - current system has only basic search capabilities, will need to vastly improve to allow searching on most any field
g) reports - current system generates very basic text reports. Need improved reporting with graphical display - perhaps jasperreports or similar
h) dashboard - must develop a configurable dashboard to show sales and order status, again see jasperreports
i) develop an API which does the following:
1) allocate next order number to calling application
2) accept data into specified order
3) report assigned order number to calling aplication
j) known fields/tables that must be added are:
1) ietm_category - all items need to be classified into item categories so that reports can be generated for groups of items as well as item specific reports
2) add due date field that can be used in work scheduling
k) needs graphical order scheduling chart that will show all pending projects
l) integrate UPS, fedex, and a couple other sites into iframes on the order entry screen
