We need to implement trouble ticket software, to enable customers to login via the web and lodge a ticket with us. Our customer service staff will also use the same web interface to lodge, resolve and track tickets.
Customers should only be able to see tickets related to their login, where internal staff should be able to see all tickets. We have no secure login structure on our website now.
I just want something simple, so either freeware or low cost. - I don't need it built from scratch, using an existing open source product is fine.

We need something can be modified to add additional fields etc and take away fields that are not needed as we adapt the system more to our needs. I have a bit of expertise so ideally I would be able to add and change fields myself once the project is finished.
I have no web servers, so we would host it at crazy domains where our website is hosted now.
I would also just need some degree of export or query capability to integrate ticket data that is generated into our existing CRM. This can be manual download at this stage if needed.
We would also want to allow the customers to search for past tickets, by closed, open etc status.
Because it is for use by customers as well as internally, it would be good if the interface is somewhat clean, easy to use and fairly presentable to a professional audience.
