We are looking at adding some features to the current and wonderful script provided by AwesomePHP with the script URL Management located at [url removed, login to view] (also attached to this project.) I have not and won't be including the script we are using with our modifications.
The three features/changes we would like should be straight forward for an experience php coder.
1. Add the ability for the website visitor to select a custom shortcut instead of using the one provided by by the current version similar to [url removed, login to view]*S4f. So there should be an option for the visitor to choose [url removed, login to view] if it is available.
2. When someone visits the short URL it currently goes to a landing page where they can see the url they will be visiting. We would like it to automatically 301 redirect to the site and not have a landing page. We have made this change to the current code but when the shortcut is requested it entrees the long url into the database correctly but when a visitor comes to the site to see the URL it 301 redirects them but there are spaces in the URL .. we cannot figure out why.
3. When a visitor requests a short url it would be nice to have the short URL look something like this [url removed, login to view] so in other words remove the * as it can cause some software applications to think it is the end of the url and not link the remaining
As we mentioned above, someone with expert skills in PHP coding should be able to takle this request fairly easily with little time taken.
