I have an Article Directory which uses the ArticleDashboard Script. Site has been running for 4+ years.
Site currently hosted on a VPS account (Hostgator VPS Level 4) and is running extremely slow and the container is constantly using 100%+ CPU.
I have approx 700,000 articles in the directory and 150,000 users. Size of the Mysql database is approaching 3GB.
My hosting company has informed me that the culprit of the high CPU usage is MySQL and this has been confirmed. The [url removed, login to view] file also consumes a fair amount of CPU also as it is being hit during high traffic.
Requirements for this project are as follows:
Isolate the cause of the high CPU load and correct issue (IMPORTANT). It seems as though the database needs to be optimized/modified so that it can run more stable and use far less CPU resources. In doing so, increase the site performance/load time so that users can have a faster response when viewing site. Tweaking of [url removed, login to view] file may be required also.
All modifications need to be documented so that we have a future reference if more work is required later.
Look forward to working with you on this project and hope that you can provide me with the results I need.
