Magento Automated Vendor Product Feed and Export

We are building a Magento-based site for a client that will be entirely populated by automated product feeds (between 4-6 different feeds). The feeds are XML files provided via secure FTP, starting with a large complete inventory and then subsequent “incremental” files updated every 15 minutes via CRON. Outbound orders are also pushed to a folder via FTP. Another major component is how the system will handle multiple instances of the same products, the client would like the product with the lowest price displayed (and possibly the rest as options on the product’s page, still undecided on that). One other unique issue is a certain category of products is not shippable via vendor, so the system will have to submit these orders differently, with the product going directly to the physical store first prior to shipping.
In addition, products are posted via API to various auction sites based on quantity available.
The Magento setup and front-end design will be handled here in house, we just need the back-end capabilities created that are out of our scope.
The full list of requirements to start is as follows:
- Multiple product/inventory feeds (up to six vendors) via FTP
- Auto update product/inventory every 15 minutes from vendor feed
- Push orders to different vendors via FTP for drop shipping
- Custom order type for a particular category of items, as vendors will not drop ship certain items
- Auto push products to multiple auction/secondary sales sites (via provided APIs) daily, based on qty in stock at vendor, if multiple of the same product from different vendors only lowest priced produce is posted.
- Automated pricing markup when products are posted to secondary/auction sites (to cover relative fees)
- Need to be able to manually edit the products/pictures
- Need to be able to manually set/override pricing based on category, attribute and individual product
- If multiple vendors offer the same product, auto display the lowest priced product on site, but use picture from other vendor if none available on lowest priced
- Control over all aspects via the admin interface
- Backend software compatible with commonly available front-end themes and plugins
Attached is the file exchange notes from one of the vendors to get an idea/get started. The client also has a non-Magento website currently up and running that is successfully importing products from two of the vendors, and exporting to one third party auction site. Access can be granted to this site to utilize whatever current coding may help.
