PART-TIME/FULL-TIME Developer needed.
Good English skills are FUNDAMENTAL. I also need a Developer, not a project manager. I will only consider DEVELOPERS DIRECTLY. Working with a project manager is much more expensive, slower, harder and has even more negative side effects (I can tell this from experience by now).
You will work on a website that has already traffic so you will always have to be sure about your code and should have tested it properly before making it public.
I also request to stick to timelines. 1-2 days more or less usully do not matter, but when it becomes "Weeks" over the agreed timeline it's something I will not tolerate anymore (again, had many bad experiences).
Once this website is 100% finished, we hopefully will start working on new projects together.
Other experience/knowledge that I would appreciate:
- server resource management (check server and tell me if/when/what I need to upgrade)
- Mysql optimization
- experience with cron jobs
- basic understanding of mathematics (website has to do with numbers and exchange rates)
The way I prefer to work:
I send you a mail with what I want to be changed on a website described point by point. If something is not clear, we have a quick chat about it where we can clear any [url removed, login to view] this is done, you send me a price quote for the work in the mail and a time estimate(hours/days)to complete the job.
This means that I pay by RESULTS, not EFFORT.I had several experiences by now where developers where not able to solve my issues and asked ME to find a solution. Eventually they told me "I put so much effort in this" whithout achieving any result and I ended up paying for bad work and delay. So this is not what I need again. I won't pay for EFFORT anymore but for RESULTS only. I need someone who is able to undestand/fix/upgrade code quickly by himself so that I can focus on other things.
Also being precise would be appreciated. If you tell me a bug is "fixed", it should be "fixed for real".
Take in consideration that I work with websites since 10 years so I usually know when my requests can be done in hours rather than days...
Please take some time before applying for the job and make sure you have the needed skills. Do not post your "default message" in a couple of seconds once the job goes online because that's for sure a negative start.
If you have all the needed skills for this job/s, Write a few words about yourself, about your coding skills+experience and maybe show me 2-3 examples of websites you have worked on.
I will send the URL of the website + brief explanation to those that seem to fit most what I'm searching for.
Once you analyzed the website and read the brief explanation you can contact me in case something is not clear. I'm really busy usually, so I surely won't have much time for small talk.
The Dev I choose will get 2-3 paid hours to go through the code of the website and understand it's structure.
Along with this I will include a list of Updates+bug fixes I would like to be done on the website. You will then have to give me a time estimate and a cost for this list. This first "updates" on an existing website is what I will use as evaluate your work. It will allow me to see if you make honest prices, respect timelines, use up-to-date code, are able to find the solution to a problem by yourself etc..
If this first job (which should be done in a few days) goes well, we carry on. I'll pay for you work but search for a new Developer right away. Because what I need is someone I can trust, who has fast response time when I need him and who will develop many of the projects I have in mind for the future. I really seek a long-time work relationship here.
Thanks for your attention
