I am a beginner working with Apache web server, and when I say beginner, I know how to turn it on. I am trying to set up a virtual host and am getting errors. I have already added the site to my /etc/host dir. I have created the files that go into this directory. I have added info into the httpd conf directory. I am doing something wrong. Here is my error: fopen: No such file or directory. httpd: could not open document config file /usr/www/[login to view URL] This is the response back from my instructor: You need to have the directory structure in place under where you are calling Apache to start under this [login to view URL] it will be looking for a conf directory and within that an [login to view URL] file. You should also have htdocs and logs directories under there and the appropriate pointers to them in the [login to view URL] file. You can see from the error the file that it cannot find /conf/httpd.conf. My guess is matbe you have it directly under [login to view URL] and not in a conf directory?? I think you are close!! Ok, I have been at this again today for the last 5 hours and still getting the same error. If you can help me, let me know. Thanks.
