I'm looking to do a proof of concept and I need someone to help me. You need to be thinking outside the box for this project. The normal rules do not apply here.
In theory, I should be able to broadcast a file over UDP on a specific wifi channel from computer A and then on computer B I should be able to set my wifi adapter in monitor/promiscuos mode and the receive the UDP packets there and pass them to a application like VLC.
I need someone that has extensive knowledge of wifi and understand how packets are transmitted and received.
You will be expected to help me figure out how to do it, and then implement it in test. The test will be sending a video file from computer A and it needs to be received with VLC on computer B.
Remember, this needs to happen with out any access point association. Think of this project as a broadcast over wifi, and any other wifi receiver listening on the specific channel and is set in monitor mode, to receive the data. Its almost like a multicast broadcast but without the IGMP. So we need to trick the OS to receive the packets, and maybe pipe it to VLC. If you are successful and I think you have the ability to work further with me, this could turn into a full time position.
