If you can work magic with phpBB we want to hear from you! We are re-building an e-commerce website ([url removed, login to view]) that has a private forum for each product we sell. We currently sell 800 products and phpBB works fine with no modification. But with this new site we're expanding to 10,000 products. This will mean we'll need to have 10,000 different forums! Our problem is that the phpBB admin isn't set up to handle the administration of 10,000 different forums out of the box. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of the phpBB API to customize a phpBB admin for us so we can list and modify permissions on all 10,000 forums. More specifically, we need the admin for phpbb to allow us to administer 10,000 forums. The problem with administering so many forums straight out of the box is that the phpbb admin attempts to display all forums on one screen. 10,000 forums on one screen isn't very useful (and it probably wouldn't even load). We need the admin to display only 50 forums at a time and give us a button for previous and next (pagination). We also need an A to Z link shortcut so we can jump ahead to forums starting with different letters of the alphabet. We also need a simple search in the admin that lets us pull up forums by searching with the exact forum name. We also need help with logging in. We need you to tell us how to set it up so that when a user is logged in to our e-commerce site the user is automatically logged in to our phpBB. Our new e-commerce site will be written in Ruby on Rails. We'll take care of writing all the Rails code. We just need your help with the phpBB side.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
After your customizations to the admin, phpBB needs to run as it normally would.
