DNN Module – Education Tracker Module
Specs:
• Entire module has window of availability which expires after 1 year.
• Need to enter new code which allows subscription for additional year
• Code Generator for above.
• It would be nice to offer a 30 day trial window as well.
• DNN So must be able to be uploaded as module
• Editable colors for the containers.
Functionality
• Sign-in or Register
• Registration - Participants Names, addresses, and other columns
• My Profile – Ability for registrant to edit their profile information
• Catalog – Entire list of available activities - Ability to add, delete, edit table
• Activities are classes that registrants can take. See below
• My Curriculum – Ties the Registrant to the specific activities (one registrant to many activities) - keeps track of “in-process” activities but also has the ability for registrant to remove activities from their curriculum. When activity is completed, activity becomes part of transcript. It would be helpful to track dates when activities are added to curriculums and when activity is begun, and when completed.
• My Transcripts – Keeps track of activities which the participant completed.
• Editable Page for Frequently Asked Questions
• Editable Page for Support
Activities: Once Registrant selects activity to complete. Activities have 6 Steps It would be nice to have number of steps to be dynamic so as the process changes, we can change with it.
• Description page (editable)
• Step 1 Attestation at bottom enables the submit button (participants read this information and agree to it). Selecting submit takes you back to Activity pages with the 6 steps.
• Step 2 - Pre-test – usually 10 questions, (true/false, single answer multiple choice or multiple answer multiple choice). Completing Step 2 enables Step 3
• Step 3 – Read or view activity. Usually this is simply bringing up a PDF in a new window. Currently simply clicking on the Step3 link enables Step 4
• Step 4 – Post-test – usually 10 questions, (true/false, single answer multiple choice or multiple answer multiple choice). This is a scored test so must be graded. It would good if a list of incorrect answers were given back to the participant. Completion of Step 4 enables step 5
• Step 5 Evaluation and Application for credit. Here there are multiple questions with T/F, single answer Multiple choice, multiple answer multiple choice and Likert scale questions. Completion of Step 5 enable Step 6.
• Step 6 – is printing of a certificate – Certificate should be in PDF format and able to be printed. But the certificate is not stored on the server, only the row indicating that participant has completed the activity. After the first time generating the certificate, the certificate should have a watermark indicating that the certificate is a “duplicate”. There will likely be different certificates based upon the nature of the registrant/participant (i.e. physician, nurse, pharmacist, dietician) As indicated above, as the participant completes the activity, it is removed from the curriculum and populated on the transcript.
I would like to know how much the cost differential would be to have there be a tuition functionality where (this should be able to be turned off as well) a learner pays a fee for 1 or 2 or multiple classes and the database keeps up with what they've paid for and what they haven't.
All rights to the developed module are to belong to Gusack Enterprises, LLC. This is one of many expected DNN projects in the works.
I have a working example written in asp that you can view if you wish. Please contact me if you would like to review.
